I am obsessed with my fitbit. Part of the obsession is…

‘How did they get me to walk 5 miles a day… 7 days a week for the last 5 ½ months??’ I used to walk 2-3 days a week.

Screen Shot 2015-05-28 at 11.43.07 PMIt sounds cheesy, but when I get the email saying ‘you are only 1800 steps away from your goal’… I respond! I live for that buzzing vibration on my wrist when I reach my 10,000 steps. At 10pm I’ll go walk around my hood to get the last few steps before it resets to 0 at midnight – or I’ll dance around my house to Madonna (instead of laying on the sofa indulging in something sweet).

One day the buzzer stopped buzzing. I had to check online to see my step count. It felt like the lights went out. I live for the buzz and now I don’t get credit…well that is a bit dramatic but you know what I mean:) I got on the helpline and found out how to give it a needed a poke in the restart button to work properly again.

I thought to myself ‘wow this crazy fitbit is teaching me yet another thing.’

I am running nearly on empty in some areas right now: my friendship, business, adventure and creativity, and self care lives.

Where is the helpline for all that?

I’m the one shouting to the world “Do what you CRAVE,” figure out who you are and DO IT!

Most of the time I do live in that space… but every once in awhile things stop working and all my tricks and wisdom don’t seem to kick in. I always say “give it 24 hours” and everything will resolve, or feel less dramatic. But sometimes a true “restart” is in order.

Off to retreat, restart and refresh. Crossed fingers I will get my “buzz” back on.
