A FRESH CRAVE!
I wonder if I’ve spent a million bucks on websites by now? After what, 20 years, I’m honestly afraid to sit down and do the math.
Since I’m obsessed about business it feels like the next iteration of CRAVE is always in the works. And so, instead of new houses and vacations, new websites has been my thing.
Last week I posted launch it broken & fix it later. A business website is the perfect example of endless updates, tweaks and edits. You just have to go live and fix it on the run. Even with this attitude, I can’t believe how long it takes to get a site launched.
So here we go with another, latest, and hopefully best ever, version of theCRAVECompany.com. Check it out!
CONTENT SNEAK PEAK
I’m working on a book about the dozen ingredients I believe in for business success. Here’s a sneak peek at a few of them with the subject of launching a website. Enjoy.
Ingredient: KISS – Keep it simple sexy – Make sure you have lots of white space and cut everything in half, then cut it in half again. (I’m still cutting.)
Ingredient: If You Have the X and Y, Someone Else Can Bring the Z. – I finally found a web designer whose goal was to empower me to be able to create, upload, and manage all the site’s content myself. We tweaked a basic WordPress theme, I like the way it looks, and I’m going to save lots of $$$.
Ingredient: Launch it broken & fix it later – Just launch it already. If you wait for perfection you’ll never launch.
Ingredient: The Beginning/Middle/End Business Formula – Set a deadline and work backwards. If you know there is an end, it’s exciting to finish. Remember it will always be a work in progress, so move it live and start the next phase.
Ingredient: Own Your Style (get obsessively curious about yourself) – Make sure you’re reflecting the true YOU and that your brand comes across as real. Don’t use stock photography. Don’t come across as too fancy or professional, better to feel authentic.
